The first indication of tooth development is the formation of an "U" shaped primary epithelial band in both upper and lower jaw. Neural crest cells migrate and come to lie under the epithelial band in the connective tissue to for ectomesenchymal cells. These induce te overlying epithelial cells to proliferate to form dental lamina. |
