NOTES
Bud stage of tooth development is seen around the 8th week of intrauterine life. It is called so because the dental (enamel) organ is like a bud that blooms later into a flower (tooth). In this stage, initially there is proliferation of cells within the dental organ. Later there is differentiation of peripheral cuboidal cells and central polygonal cells. The underlying cells of ectomesenchyme condense further. |
